• Storage: clear ~150GB on your console. Modern Rockstar installs are huge and day-one patches add more.
• Internet: day-one patch will likely be 10–30GB. Plan a download window.
• Controller: fresh battery / new sticks if yours drift.

Account check

• Make sure your PSN or Xbox Live account is in good standing.
• If you plan to play with friends, agree on platform NOW — no crossplay confirmed.
• Decide whether you want PS Plus / Game Pass Core for any online features (TBD).

Wait on these

• Don't buy a PC build for GTA 6 yet. No PC date.
• Don't pre-order special editions until Rockstar reveals what's in them.
• Don't buy "leaked" guides or maps from third parties.

When real guides drop
